“People will love you. People will hate you. And none of it will have anything to do with you.” — Abraham Hicks
This week you might’ve had one of those “oh… that’s what was really going on” moments.
It could’ve started as a quiet discomfort — like certain relationships suddenly felt colder.
No arguments. No big fallouts. Just… something shifted.
Like maybe you stopped being easy to be around.
But here’s what’s really happening:
• You stopped shrinking.
• You stopped smoothing things over at your own expense.
• You started choosing yourself — your needs, your clarity, your inner peace.
And when that happens, something else does too:
People who were comfortable with the old version of you might start to pull away.
Not in loud, dramatic ways.
In quieter ones — the canceled calls, the weird distance, the “you’ve changed” energy.
Sometimes even just silence.
And yeah… that can cut deep.
But here’s something most people don’t say out loud:
If you taught people to love the version of you that didn’t fully honor yourself…
how could they possibly know how to hold the version that does?
That’s what healing does.
It doesn’t just change you.
It reshapes the space around you.
And not everyone is going to adjust.
Not everyone will rise with you.
Not everyone can stay because staying now means seeing you clearly.
And not everyone is ready for that.
But here’s what’s true:
This isn’t about blame. It’s about capacity. Some people were drawn to your glow because it never asked them to grow.
The moment it does some will lean in and others will leave.
Let them.
You’re not becoming harder to be around.
You’re becoming more honest.
And honesty has a different frequency than accommodation.
If you’re feeling disconnected, from others or even from yourself, pause and ask:
1. What parts of me have I been hiding to keep the peace?
2. And what might happen if I finally let them speak?
✨ Try this:
Write a letter from the version of you who’s been quiet for too long. It’s helpful to do a 5 minute meditation to really connect with this part of you.
Let this part of yourself say what you need.
No edits. No filters.
You don’t have to share it — just let the truth exist on the page. When you’re ready to explore, decide a small step you can take to embrace a new habit aligned with what is true for you.
Healing isn’t about burning it all down.
It’s about getting honest about what’s no longer rooted in truth and choosing to stay rooted in yourself instead.
Some people will make the shift with you.
Others won’t.
But you’re not here to be tolerated.
You’re here to be known.
And the ones who stay?
They’ll meet you where you are now.
